Poet's Flutes

The "Night and Day" Style Poet's Flute above
The Large Poet's Flute
For years I built the Giant Flute. One day I experimented on a smaller vesion 32 1/2 inches long so my customers could handle it better. The Large Poet's Flute was born. After it was made and tweaked into a creative musical poem, I bonded, and it went to market. Then I decided I should learn all I could from this delightful scale and when I realized what I had, I was able to shrink it down further to a flute everybody could play. That would be simply called The Poet's Flute of 16 inches x 7/8 . Named appropriately by flutemaker Scott Boswell of Texas because of it's poetic scale.
The Large Poet's Flute
This side blown flute 32 1/2 inches long and aprox. 1 3/4 inches wide.
It has 4 finger holes
High Do: all fingers down but first one closest to you up.
Good for big hands and long arms.

This is an exotic scale, very melodic. By going up & down the scale it will sound good.
This is like the Minor, Arabian and Oriental flutes taught on our DVD & Video.
This DVD teaches the basic principles of improvising on exotic scales.
The Poet Flute in not taught specifically on the how to Dvd. But it is helpful.

What people are saying
Hi Erik!
I got my flutes today from the customs! Thank you very much again, they are so beautyful. I love the design and sound of the Large Poet's Flute! Wow, what a flute that is! It sounds absolute beautyful and evrery tone comes up perfect.
The Kiowa Love Flute sounds sweet and wonderful. The breath of history gives the Flute its soul. The nice little Chinese is even a great flute. So, now they are home. Thank you for your art and love that you have given to my flutes.
My best wishes to you

I received my poet’ s flute and my walking flute. I now own 4 of your flutes and I have to say that I just LOVE THEM All! Beautiful, sweet tone, great work. The poet’ s flute is an open door to meditation, and the walking flute can bring you back to old Japan . Thanks a million for your master work!

Dear Erik and Company
I received the Large Poet's flute the other day. When I opened the package I could not help but stare at the creation in my hands. I took several moments to admire the details. The soft edges, smooth feel, the light and dark areas of the wood, placement of each hole, the lettering of the inscription and even the smell. For something so simple, it has so much character. When I held the flute to my lips for the first time I closed my eyes. As I slowly blew into it, the most charming tones began to resonate from the flute and I could actually feel the sound in my fingers. Erik you are truly a master of your art... Thank you and God Bless.

Hi Erik,
I got one of your large Poet's Flutes this Christmas and I can't put it down.
Once I mastered the embouchure it was so much fun to play that I'm simply addicted.
The beautiful, deep tones are so mellow that anything I played automatically sounded relaxing and peaceful.
The amateur potential of your flutes is amazing, I can only recommend them to anyone who enjoys music
and I'll definitely order some more in the fluture.
All the best,
Lasse Zieseniß, Bielefeld, Germany. January 03, 2010

Erik,
Please go ahead and make me the Poet's flute in G. I own flutes from all over the world and my present
favorites are the flutes you create. I'll send you a copy of my new CD after the final mix is completed.
Thanks much!
