Dear Erik,
I received my bamboo pennywhistle today after waiting with great expectation and nervousness for about a month. Expectations were high from reading other people's impressions of your craftsmanship. Nervousness was also great because I am very new to flute playing and worried that I would be without any skill. Thankfully I had no reason to be nervous; the artistry and attention to detail that you put into your products is absolutely outstanding. So much in fact that even I can make lovely sounds on my penny whistle. Opening the package was my first indication that you cared greatly for your creations. There was what looked like a full newspaper (with a couple of flyers thrown in for good measure) safely cradling the instrument within. Upon unwrapping the pennywhistle I was greeted with the delightful smell of burnt bamboo. After not being able to put the instrument down for a few hours I decided to write to you to let you know how absolutely pleased I am with my purchase.
I am already thinking about what the next flute purchase will be.

I am using scraps from a wood distributor in Michigan. I have been told that the wood we are presently using is Pau Lope. It is a beautiful exotic wood from South America. The trees generally grow from 140 to 150 feet.
It is sometimes called Brazilian walnut or ironwood. Naturally resistant to rot and decay thus used for decking, bridges, boardwalks and interior flooring.
