Kids of Cascabel
The flute is built and tuned by Erik.
The bamboo comes from the subtropical bamboo groves of South Florida.
The Oriental writting on this flute
Comes with two stong bindings of Bees waxed thread.
In Japan the end blown version of this flute was played by former Samurai who could no longer carry their swords by government decree. So they made the flute out of the root stock and thus could use it for protection too.
I received my flutes from you late last week after what was a much shorter wait than I had anticipated. Despite the quick creation/shipping time, I still couldn't help being more excited and anxious than a kid waiting for Christmas.
The reason I haven't emailed sooner to express my thanks, is that I've been busy playing them all non-stop: the Oriental from Leo, the Chinese flute and my Vivaldi minor. I absolutely love them and can't put them down.
The Sakura carving on my Oriental flute from your wife, Linda, and the wonderful and fun Starry Night design I asked you to put on my Vivaldi are beautiful. I enjoy looking at them almost as much as playing them.
I also bought my mother-in-law an Alto Sax. She's been showing it off to family and friends and having it has brought her much happiness.
All I can say is "thank you." Thank you for making available these fine instruments that are so obviously created with love, talent and joy for what you do.
Reading your book helped shake me out of the spiritual rut I was in and re-connect with a truth that I've known but have forgotten while looking for "other" answers. A truth that I've ignored, neglected, remembered and forgotten, and thanks to you and this chain of events, a truth I have welcomed back into my life. That truth is: Jesus is Lord, I love him and He loves me. He has always been with me and always will be.
Mr. Sampson, I'm overcome with emotion as I write you. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story with the world and for not being afraid to joyously proclaim the truth and do it with such warmth, humanity, compassion and love. Thank you.
Sincerely and God Bless,

Erik, you and Leo are master craftsmen! My master carved shakuhachi sounds as beautiful as it looks! Thank you very much for this wonderful gift! Peace, Love, and Loot,
