Exotic Scales
Not your Do Re Mi Major Scale but flutes that produce strong cultural emotion. You might say flutes that play world music from soothing minor and pentatonic scales. Many of these flutes are ancient and add a sweet peaceful touch to this fast paced world. When flutes are played in nice acoustics or played with reverb the sound is even more heavenly.

Arabian Flute

This is a melodic scale. Just run up and down the scale and it sounds like you have been playing this kind of music for years. It has a pinki hole too. Consider the Arabian like the minor, going up and down the scale and stopping here and there.

Egyptian Flute

Although Neys are found in the Arabic world from Morocco to Pakistan, Persia, and Turkey, it is said to have started over 5,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt. Seen in tomb paintings in pyramids and still played in some Ethiopian tribes. It is one of the oldest forms of flutes. The Museum in Cairo shows some very primitive Neys that bear striking similarities to the simple cane instruments that are still found in Egypt today.

The Meditation Flute

The Meditation Flute helps to bring you to the other side of the hustle and bustle of our modern paced blurr. First made in 1976. I was about to open the smaller holes on this new creation when I decided to see what I had and I'm glad I did.

Oriental Flute

Japanese Shakuhachi Tuning -- 21 inches

This is a most unusual flute, in deep mellow harmonic tones.

Kung Fu Flute in memory of David Carradine.

The Easy Kiowa Love Flute Style

The Native American courting flute, with soft sensitive tones, a pentatonic scale, restful and creative, anything you do sounds lovely.

Easy to play! Great for beginners! Just blow softly into the top hole like a recorder. See the history for the Kiowa Love Flute Style along with lessons and songs. If your hands are small grab the Gal flute. It will have a brighter voice but it will still be sweet.

Jiahu Crane Flute

An end blown, high pitched pentatonic flute. Made of bamboo. Inspired by an archeological find in Henan China from ancient flutes.

The Double Flute

Using two Dublin Susato Pennywhistles bound together. Made of ABS Resin, a high quality material that is used to make Recorders and Clarinets.

The Harmonic Minor

These flutes seems to be great for creative folks.
I recommend it for improvisation. It reminds me of the Renaissance times.

Going from all fingers down, to all open, and back again will tune your ear to this lovely scale. All closed but first finger up is high do.

Poet's Flute
This is an exotic scale, very melodic. By going up & down the scale it will sound good.
This is like the Minor, Arabian and Oriental flutes taught on our DVD & Video.

Kokin Flute.
A great Oriental feel.
Mysterious, fun and easy. It is a modified Japanese sounding
Side Blown flute.

Kokin Gigantica

A very deep melodic meditative voice. Comes in Natural Bamboo, Dark and Carved, Master Carved and Starry Night.

Ancient Anasazi Flute

was a difficult flute to play in the southwest of the US  around 1,385 years ago.
I am making it side blown and with the Quena V shaped mouthpiece
The inspiration came from a flute found in a cave in 1931 which is in the Arizona State Museum in Tucson.

Easy Anasazi Flute
We have taken an ancient Anazasi scale and placed it into the body of the easily played Kiowa Love flute style.

Chinese

Chinese Flute
A 2 octave side blown flute with an ancient Forbbiden City feel.
Nice to slide fingers to get character on the flute.

Ice Age Flute

Ice Age Flute
After the announcement of the discovery of what might be the oldest instrument in the world, I felt quite inspired to research it and try to bring a semblance of it to my customers.

Stone Age Flute
While doing research on the “Ice Age Flute", Leo, my associate and I came across an audio clip that we thought was a reproduction of the above mentioned flute.

Double Kiowa love Flute Style

A Concert tuned pentatonic scale. The double chamber allows one or both flutes to be played.

Poet's flute

This is an exotic scale, very melodic. By going up & down the scale it will sound good.
This is like the Minor, Arabian and Oriental flutes taught on our DVD & Video.

Shepperd's flute

An ancient windy desert voiced flute with an Arabian scale.

Easy to blow because of the fipple mouthpiece which is carved from our strong home grown bamboo.

By just going up and down the scale it sounds like you have been playing this flute for ages.

Walking Flute

Not only a flute not only a staff, it's a Stafflutie!

Since 1970 I have been building walking sticks that can play.

Started with the soft cane in Guatemala and continued with a 3 flute staff sold at the renaissance faires in the 1980's and 90's.
Lately, due to the interest from a recent movie I have been making an Oriental flute in the mid piece of a staff.
It is a side blown flute so you have to press and roll and pretend you are spitting out watermelon seeds from a relaxed grin to get a sound.
It is also a pentatonic scale and sounds rich, mellow and enchanting.
Inspired from an ancient Japanese flute called the Shaquhachi.
