The Story of Erik the Flutemaker
|
This dramatic story is about the adventures of the flutemaker as he traveled Central and South America. It is also a tale of the people he met and the fascinating stories they told.
Erik says, "I will take you from my home in a chicken coop in Guatemala, to a president’s palace in Fiji, from an ancient Mayan temple in a jungle, to the basement of an Argentine judge where guerrillas hid bomb-making tapes. We will get lost on a live volcano, feed a street gang in Costa Rica, play flute to a poisonous snake and walk into an underground guerilla headquarters in Colombia. All the while becoming aware of a loving presence from beyond the natural realm as he goes Bumping Into God.
The proceeds from this book go to support and build a home and the Kids of Cascabel originally 18 kids rescued from a garbage dump in Nicaragua.

Who knew Erik the flutemaker to be a gifted author as well as an excellent musician! I was totally entertained by his book, "Bumping Into God." His bizarre life experiences and goofy illustrations had me turning pages anxiously wanting to know, "What happened next?" What an amazing life saga! So much more entertaining than watching Ozzie Ozborne on reality TV. Erik's descriptive narratives of all his escapades are told with such a flare that I felt like I was his best friend and that we were passengers seated together on the "bus of life." Even though we all have our own stories, Erik's are truly more entertaining than most. I'm so fortunate to have bumped into Erik and discovered "Bumping Into God."

I have read dozens upon dozens of biographies and continually read biographical stories. Erik's autobiography is one of the best and most entertaining I have ever read.
It will take you on a spiritual journey, traveling through several countries and different continents, following Erik from his early childhood to this present day. You might be tempted to forget at times that what you are reading is not a great fictional adventure, but is actually a true story of one man's road to truth.
You'll have a hard time putting this book down, as one exciting scenario leads to another and yet another. With the book's unpredictability you'll have a hard time knowing what is around the next corner.
I laughed and cried as I went with Erik on his life journey. I thought I knew this man they call Erik the Flute Maker before reading his autobiography, but what I read blew me away. He had never told me how full and exciting, many times dangerous, his life has been.
I cannot recommend this book enough. I hope and pray that everyone who gets the chance to read Bumping Into God does so. I'm sure they won't be disappointed.

I purchased Erik's book on a Sunday morning and I started reading it Sunday evening and I finished it on Thursday morning. I couldn't put it down. It is a wonderful book. I've read hundreds of books and Erik's book is right up there as one of the best. It is very well written and not only tells Erik's story but there are many other testimonies of what God has done in other peoples lives. Amazing and wonderful testimonies of God's miracles. This book made me laugh and it made me cry. I will recommend this book to all my friends
