Ancient Anasazi Flute was played in the southwest  around 1,385 years ago

The scale we are making was found in a cave in 1931. I am making it with the Quena mouthpiece found in the Andean regions of South America.

What you Are Saying

Erik, thank you so much for the Starry Nights bamboo Anasazi! I really love it! It has a great pure sweet sound, and lots of volume too! Amazing! It just jumps up to the higher octave effortlessly. I really like the finish, too. That sweet flute will be going to sing to the Ancient Ones in Chaco Canyon.
You'll be hearing from me again Kat in St. George Utah May 2009

Hello Erik,

Today I finally managed to take my new Large Anasazi flute from Lisbon's customs. My God, such bureaucracy it was! But it only
enhanced the extreme pleasure I experienced soon as I got to my car and couldn't wait more to try it out. And what a wonderful sound it
was, right there, on the parking lot, soon as I walked the couple of meters from the customs station.
I got home and I've been playing it for hours. It is now 1.20 am and I still haven't stopped. On one hand the sound on both octaves is so
amazingly easy to produce and so full and harmonically rich, on the other, the exquisite flavor of the peculiar scale makes it
particularly exciting to play. The duality of the major/minor quality due to the c#/d sequence against the Bb fundamental gives it such an
original and inspiring characteristic that you keep discovering new melodic possibilities all the time, away from the ever repeating
pentatonic or diatonic usual melodic patterns. It is the first flute I bought from you, but I expect to come back
soon and try some more of your instruments.

Thank you very much,
César Viana (Lisbon, Portugal)
